I feel like such a tumblr n00b for having to ask this, especially since I know I’ve done it before, but can someone help me out with making a Read More? Google has failed me; everything I’ve tried hasn’t worked.
Usually I’d just give up & not bother putting it under a Read More, but it really is a ridiculously long post, even for me, and I don’t want to clog up people’s dash any more than is necessary.

There’s a button that looks like a page break - that’s what causes the read more. UNFORTUNATELY sometimes you have to mess with putting text before and after the line break cause it’s wonky.

so what you actually have to do is , once you place the read more html where you need it, you need to click the little html button, and press “save” so it actually comprehends the read more. then preview to make sure it works. may need multiple tries
