Selections from ‘Rituals’, by Noorann Matties
Forced to examine ourselves in ways many normally avoid, Rituals as a project sought to capture the moment in which we our lives become devoid of distraction and we become intimately aware of ourselves. By photographing people’s personal beauty rituals I attempted to capture this awareness, this intimacy that occurs only when one is forced to examine their own body, the most basic thing that is theirs, and build upon it.

but a skimmons au where they have to go undercover as a couple and simmons works out all of the details about who they are, how they met, how their first date went, how long they’ve been together, what they like about each other and what they hate, which side they sleep on in bed, who cooks the most, and whose idea it was to take the trip and gives skye a thick folder with all of the information color coded with sections either bolded or highlighted when simmons went over it again, and skye looks through it and then gives simmons a sly grin and asks her if she’s worked out when they had sex for the first time and how many times a day, and simmons blushes and stutters and looks away, and then skye tells her that she’s decided it happened for the first time after their first date and they couldn’t keep their hands off each other at first and had sex constantly, every where and now it’s only four times a day, and simmons blushes some more, but adds those tidbits of information into the file she’s got saved on her tablet
