Life would be way easier if I were easier.
Walk home in the rain. Close door. Take off wet clothes. Do homework in underwear.

#ReasonsIAmGoingtoMissNotHavingMyOwnRoomWhileinDisney

That awkward moment when you walk out of your bedroom in your pajamas and there’s a guest in your house.

mariametal:

Try that awkward moment when you walk out of your bedroom with no pants on and your roommate’s boyfriend is in the kitchen.

Today, I made one of the worst mistakes you can ever make as a Psych major…

I was in the bookstore in the student union, and I saw a copy of the DSM-IV-TR.
And then I picked it up…

Aaaaand then I proceeded to diagnose myself with literally 6 different things.
(One of them being Hypochondriasis)

I’m such an awesome student

So every time I see my friend Margo, she ends up lending me a book. It never fails.
But now its finals, and she lives in New Jersey, so I went to go give her back her book before she leaves for the summer.
As soon as I give it back to her, she says “Do you want the sequel for a few days?”

My brain: No, you have 4 exams to study for, plus if you want to procrastinate, you have several tv shows to catch up on, plus you’re still like a month behind on tumblr.

My mouth: YES.

So now I’m gonna spend my whole night reading, instead of doing something that’s actually productive.

Least favorite part of your apartment’s washer/dryer in the kitchen?

When your roommate’s boyfriend comes to get a glass of water as you’re taking a load of “delicates” out of the dryer.

So I went & saw Melissa Anelli today…

She gave a very good talk about Harry Potter and the Fandom and “The Flaw in the Plan” and her experiences in the fandom. It was probably about an hour-ish, followed by half an hour-ish of Q-and-A, followed by a book signing.

I got an awesome Dark Mark Tattoo, and I finally bought her book/got it signed =)
When I went to get my book signed, she identified me as “camera-girl” because I filmed 70+ minutes of it before my camera gave out (I was also directly in front of the podium, so it was actually good footage), and she told me I’m not allowed to put the footage on YouTube. Whoops. =P I don’t regret filming it though, because I still have it & I can show it to friends & stuff.

One of the most amusing parts was that this all took place at Catholic University (which is a short metro-ride away from College Park), which caused a lot of comments along the lines of “I need to stop say these things at Catholic University! Nobody’s going to Hell!”

The Q-and-A was pretty good. People were kinda shy about questions at first, but then most of the questions (with a few notable exceptions) were intelligent and interesting. And she provided thoughtful, intelligent answers (plus some Matt Lewis fangirling. I approve).
I asked 2 questions:
What scene from the books were you most disappointed to not see in the movies?
She said that she was disappointed that there was no Peeves in the movies, partially because Peeves is just such a great character, who would’ve added some much-needed lightness to the movies, and partially because of a few specific lines in Deathly Hallows. Particularly Ron’s response to Peeves’s song after the Battle is over.
-and-
What’s the most surprising thing to come out of the fandom?
She said that to her, A Very Potter Musical was the most unexpected, and she told the story of how she was one of the first people who didn’t see it live to see it because Steph Anderson sent her the DVD before it went up on YouTube, and how they watched it while they were on tour and they were all singing Going Back on the road the next day.

There are lots more things I could say, but this post is long enough already, so I’ll just say that the night was Totally Awesome. =)

APRIL: Stop! Okay, just stop. I’m a virgin, yes. So what? It’s not something I talk about, okay? We all have things we don’t talk about. Alex, you’ve been afraid of the elevator for like, a month, but I never said anything because it’s none of my business. And Jackson, you wake up every night screaming because you have nightmares. And, Meredith, you don’t talk about Cristina because you’re afraid she’s never gonna be the same Cristina again. And.. Lexie, for God’s sake, Mark never thought you were a psycho. He loves you. That’s why he stares at you. Because he can’t keep his eyes off the woman he loves. Of course, he’s never gonna say anything cause he doesn’t feel like he can. Well, we all have stuff we don’t talk about! I am a 28-year-old virgin. Mainly because I wanted my first time to be special and then I waited too long and partially because I’m pretty sure guys find me annoying. I’m a virgin! That doesn’t make it drinks conversation! We all have stuff we don’t talk about!

I’m trying to remember what the exact moment in this episode was when I went “Shit, I’m going to be April Kepner, aren’t I?”
And then I was ok with it.
